Day in the Life

Performed and Choreographed by Yvlan Starchild-St. Clair, Hannah Staton, & Savannah Jade Dobbs

"Day in the Life" is a dance about three people who are isolated from each other, but who are also connected in a way that they don't understand. The dancers wear suits and move through their own "worlds" on stage. They seem to be oblivious to each other, but their movements are synchronized in a way that suggests that they are all part of something larger. The title, "Day in the Life," suggests that the dance is about the ordinary lives of these three people and the challenges that they face. The dance evokes the rat race mentality of city life, where individuals are often lost in their own pursuits, unaware of the lives unfolding around them. Yet, amidst this apparent disconnection, there is an undeniable harmony, a synchronized dance of human existence.
